Meet Darren Skidmore: A Journey from Tech Support to Customer Engagement Manager

At Adaptive Care, we pride ourselves on our dedicated team members who contribute to our success. In this blog post, we would like to introduce you to one of our exceptional Customer Engagement Managers – Darren, who has been with us for six years.

Darren’s journey at Adaptive Care began in Tech Support, where he provided internal and customer support for IT-related issues. From software to hardware, Darren assisted staff and customers alike.

As time went on, Darren has found himself more involved in supporting our CLB and Acoustic Monitoring and Nurse Call systems. He took on responsibilities such as configuring the systems for new care homes and installing them on-site. This involved setting up computers, panels and cables in care homes that were still in the early stages of construction. Witnessing the transformation from building sites to fully operational care homes utilising our state-of-the-art equipment brought great satisfaction.

As Adaptive Care expanded its involvement in the care side of the business, Darren wanted to be more actively involved in making a positive impact on care homes particularly reducing falls and improving overall wellbeing of care home residents. This led him to his current role as a Customer Engagement Manager. His main responsibilities include visiting care homes to train staff on the Nurse Call and Acoustic Monitoring systems and acting as a point of contact for any assistance or advice requirements related to the systems. With his technical background, Darren is also able to offer valuable insights on system improvements, ensuring care homes can maximise the benefits of our technology.

Beyond his dedication to Adaptive Care, Darren has a passion for photography. Whether capturing Motorsports, Aviation, Wildlife, or covering events, Darren spends his weekends and evenings immersed in his craft. His talent and dedication have even earned him recognition, with his work being published in mainstream magazines and websites!
