BookJane allows you to communicate with your team members and administrators at your location! There are three types of communications:

• Conversation: a 1:1 interaction with a team member or administrator
• Group chat: a group interaction with multiple team members and/or administrators, where all group members can respond to and see all messages within the group chat.
• Broadcast: a message sent to a group of people, where all team members can see the message you send within the group but cannot respond to the group (i.e. team members responses will be sent to you as a 1:1 conversation).

Yes! BookJane conveniently allows you to communicate with workers, team members or other admins.

Administrators create shifts on the web. The system will automatically send out the shifts to your team members through our app. When a shift has been accepted, you’ll get real time updates via the Dashboard and email.

BookJane is an online platform that allows you to easily send out shift vacancies and have them filled within minutes. The platform is accessible through any browser, all you need is a device that is connected to the internet.

Acoustic monitoring is a process that involves the use of specialised technology to capture, record, and analyse sounds and noises in different environments. In the healthcare sector, acoustic monitoring can be used to monitor a resident during sleep, helping to diagnose conditions like sleep disorders, lung diseases through the analysis of breathing sounds and even to prevent falls.

Staff can benefit from acoustic monitoring in several ways, as it can enhance resident care, safety, and overall operational efficiency. For example, this technology can help to improve response times to falls, vocal distress, seizures, and other emergencies. Acoustic monitoring also reduces the amount of time spent making unnecessary in-room checks, giving staff more time to deliver direct, person-centred care to residents.

Part of the Admin training we provide is to show senior/admin staff how to use the provided report generator to see for themselves how long an alert took to be acted upon as well as how long the carer spent with the resident. We can also offer automated reports to show all alerts for a day/week/month as well as ‘Exception report’ that will only show alerts that took longer than a pre-agreed duration to be actioned e.g. anything longer than 5 minutes.

Residents can benefit from acoustic monitoring in several ways, especially from better sleep cycles. Due to the lack of disturbance from staff periodically checking in on them, residents sleep better through the night. Better nights mean better days and an improvement in overall health and wellbeing.

Residents also gain a sense of security from knowing that staff have eyes and ears in their rooms via the acoustic monitoring system and visual monitoring solutions. Staff will be ready to attend the room if a care intervention is needed, allowing them to respond quicky – reducing the amount of potential falls and the time it takes for assistance to arrive.

Acoustic monitoring works through the installation of special sensors that are installed in a resident’s room. The sensor monitors the sounds in the room and looks for unusual patterns that may indicate a potential incident or sign of distress. When any sound profile exceeds its individually set threshold, an alert is sent to a central station where the sound recording can be analysed and then a message and instruction sent to a caregiver’s handset if an intervention is required.

Acoustic monitoring can either be paid for as a capital investment or through a subscription model that enables care homes to pay for the solution from the benefits gained from using the solution.

Funding is available from the Adult Social Care Technology Fund to implement and evaluate the effectiveness of care technology in adult social care. Details on how to apply can be found at Adult Social Care Technology Fund – Digital Social Care
