Caring Homes

Adept Care Homes have an estate of 8 operating sites across the Midlands in the UK and their team has over 25 dedicated people who have been with them between 10 and 27 years. They recognise that each resident is unique and ensure that their care and support is personalised to the needs of the individual.
Adaptive Care were tasked with installing CLB Acoustic Monitoring, site wide IP Telephony and WiFi plus Nurse Call Integration Software to their luxury new build Harrier House project in Hucknall.
Provision needed to be made for all of the 85 resident bedrooms – Dementia sufferers needed to be able to call for assistance at night time without using traditional Nurse Call methods.
A whole host of technology that would be reliant on wireless connection to the local network and internet was planned to be used by staff, residents and visitors meant that a suitable managed WiFi solution needed to be provided that gave excellent coverage and security. The planned Nurse Call solution sent alerts to communal audible call bells which could cause disruption – a software solution was sought that could send these alerts discretely to mobile handsets instead and promote a more peaceful environment.
Incoming and outgoing call traffic for staff and residents would need to be managed throughout the day so a commercial grade telephony system was needed.
Adaptive Care offered CLB Acoustic Monitoring and Nurse Call. Traditional Nurse Call is usually reliant on interaction from the service user either pulling a pull cord or pressing a call bell for assistance. Many residents do not have the cognitive or physical ability to do this so they become more reliant on periodic checks or “reactive” technologies such as pressure sensors to know when intervention is required.
