Benson House Care Home: Care Home Technology

Caring Homes

17th Dec 2020

Caring Homes are a leading provider of care homes for the elderly with over 25 years of experience and almost 4000 residents across their estate.

At the heart of what they do is the desire to provide everyone they support with the opportunity to continue to live life to the full. Adaptive Care were tasked with installing the CLB Acoustic Monitoring system with IP Cameras at their new build, luxury Benson House home in Wallingford. This will provide individualised care in small communities for residents that suffer from complex Dementia and associated Behaviours that Challenge.

Provision needed to be made for all of the 70 resident bedrooms – Dementia sufferers needed to be able to call for assistance at night time without using traditional Nurse Call methods. In addition to the CLB solution, camera footage needed to be accessed on bedrooms once an alert was raised.

Adaptive Care provided the solution through CLB Acoustic Monitoring and IP camera’s. A single CLB Acoustic Monitoring Module was installed into each resident bedroom – this monitors sound in a room and when a concerning noise is heard an alert is sent to a central station.

This means that the need for checks is reduced, disturbance is kept to a minimum, care is only given when needed and events that may ordinarily not have been uncovered are addressed and dealt with in a timely fashion.
