Adaptive Care Nominated for Leaders in Care Award 2024 for successful Acoustic and Visual Monitoring installation at Epilepsy Society

04th Oct 2024

Addressing the challenge of epilepsy care

Caring for individuals with epilepsy requires a specialised approach, particularly in a residential setting where the night-time poses unique dangers. Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP) is an alarming risk, making early intervention critical.

Traditional monitoring methods, such as 30-minute checks, do not provide real-time information that could detect a potentially dangerous seizure. Equally, they are time consuming and can disrupt a person’s sleep, with risk of adverse outcomes.

To tackle these challenges, we partnered with the Epilepsy Society to implement our industry-leading CLB Acoustic Monitoring, Nurse Call System, and Visual Sensors. The impact of our project has been profound. With the ability to detect potentially dangerous nocturnal seizures that were previously unnoticed, we have enabled timely interventions that could save lives.

Our technology not only enhances resident safety but also empowers care staff. Knowing they have immediate access to real-time information allows them to provide the best possible care with confidence. The reduction in intrusive checks has led to improved sleep quality for residents, ultimately contributing to their overall well-being.

Celebrating excellence in social care

The Leaders in Care Awards is an esteemed event that takes place annually, honouring the outstanding contributions of individuals and organisations within the social care sector. This year, the awards will be held on 8th October, at the National Conference Centre in Solihull. It’s a significant occasion where the best in the industry come together to celebrate achievements, share insights, and foster connections.

At Adaptive Care, we believe that innovation is the key to providing exceptional care. Our nomination for the Innovative Solutions – Care Homes Award reflects our dedication to providing cutting-edge solutions that enhance the quality of life for both residents and caregivers. We continuously strive to implement new technologies and practices that not only improve care delivery but also empower staff and enrich the lives of those living in care.

Looking forward to the awards ceremony

This black-tie event promises an inspiring evening filled with networking opportunities and insights from the best in the industry. Regardless of the outcome, being nominated is a significant honour for Adaptive Care, and we look forward to coming together to celebrate excellence achieved in social care over the past year and to shape an even better future!
